Larry Houzer

Larry Houzer is a former American professional basketball player who played as a forward. Standing 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 m) tall, he played college basketball at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). Following his college career, Houzer received an invitation to the Dallas Mavericks' NBA training camp, an opportunity documented in the university's contemporary student newspaper. Although he never appeared in an official NBA regular-season game, Houzer continued his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), representing the Pensacola Tornados and Birmingham Bandits between 1989 and 1992. His connection to the Dallas Mavericks makes him an interesting part of the franchise's training camp history during the late 1980s.
