Private Provenance Statement – Vilnius, Lithuania
Summary
Signed two-page provenance statement documenting the ownership history of Walsh Jordan’s white Lietuvos Rytas jersey from the 2001–02 championship season. The original owner confirms that he personally received the jersey from Jordan immediately following the championship final and retained it in his possession for approximately 23 years.
Description
This signed provenance statement records the personal account of the jersey’s original owner and direct recipient. As a 14-year-old Lietuvos Rytas supporter, he regularly attended games, collected player autographs and developed a personal connection with Walsh Jordan during the 2001–02 season.
Immediately after the championship final, he approached Jordan near the players’ tunnel and asked for his jersey. Although Jordan had already promised jerseys to another supporter, he gave the young collector the white jersey worn during the final while fulfilling his other commitment with the black jersey.
Because the jersey was too large for him at the time, the recipient asked his mother to fold and sew it so that he could wear it. He subsequently retained the jersey in his personal possession for approximately 23 years. The garment later resurfaced when he discovered that a collector was searching for this particular jersey while researching his history as a Lietuvos Rytas supporter.
The document includes front and rear photographs of the jersey and concludes with a signed Statement of Authenticity and Ownership. In this declaration, the original recipient confirms that the account represents his personal recollection, that he received the jersey directly from Walsh Jordan following the championship final and that the documented garment is the same jersey retained in his possession for approximately 23 years.
