The comparison identified two independent mismatches between the examined jersey and the jersey shown in the in-game photograph. The first occurs along the lower section of the final letter in the “NETS” wordmark, where the mesh-hole pattern does not align with the corresponding twill edge. The second occurs beside the right edge of the letter “T”: the in-game jersey displays a vertical mesh-hole row immediately adjacent to the twill border, whereas the examined jersey does not. Because the placement of the lettering over the underlying mesh fabric is fixed during manufacture, these localized differences cannot reasonably be attributed solely to folds, perspective or image quality. The available photographic evidence therefore indicates that the examined jersey is not the same physical jersey worn by DeShawn Stevenson in the reference photograph. The result is classified as a photographic mismatch.

The examined jersey and the in-game reference photograph were compared through enlarged, side-by-side inspection of the “NETS” wordmark. The analysis focused on the spatial relationship between the fixed twill lettering and the underlying rows of mesh perforations. Individual mesh-hole rows were traced relative to identifiable points along the letter borders, including the right side of the “T” and the lower contour of the final letter. Differences in camera angle, fabric tension, curvature, folds and image resolution were considered during the assessment. Only localized areas that remained sufficiently visible in both images were used. The mesh rows intersect or approach the twill borders at different positions in the two images. As these discrepancies occur in multiple independent locations, they provide consistent negative evidence against the examined jersey being the same physical garment shown in the reference photograph.
