FIBA Basketball World Cup Slovenia vs Australia

The examined Luka Dončić Slovenia national team jersey was compared with in-game imagery from Slovenia’s FIBA Basketball World Cup game against Australia. The examination focused on the letter “I” within the front “SLOVENIJA” wordmark and its position relative to the jersey’s perforated mesh panel. One material conflicting characteristic was identified. In the in-game photograph, the upper blue section of the letter “I” extends into and is positioned directly on the perforated mesh area. On the examined jersey, the same letter is placed noticeably lower, with its upper edge located below the corresponding boundary of the mesh panel. This discrepancy represents a different vertical placement of the “SLOVENIJA” wordmark on the two garments. Because the relationship between the applied lettering and the fixed transition of the jersey fabric is determined during manufacture, the difference cannot reasonably be attributed solely to viewing angle, garment tension, player movement or ordinary fabric distortion. The examined jersey therefore does not match the individual garment worn by Luka Dončić in the reference game against Australia. This conclusion is limited specifically to that game and does not exclude the possibility that the jersey was prepared for Dončić or used during another game, training session, photoshoot or team activity.

The examination was conducted through a detailed side-by-side visual comparison of the examined jersey and in-game photographs showing Luka Dončić during Slovenia’s FIBA Basketball World Cup game against Australia. The analysis focused on the front “SLOVENIJA” wordmark, with particular attention given to the letter “I.” The letter was evaluated for correspondence in its shape, proportions, edge contours and vertical position. Its placement was then assessed relative to the visible rows of mesh perforations and the fixed transition between the perforated upper panel and the lower jersey fabric. The comparison identified a conflicting spatial relationship. In the reference image, the upper portion of the letter “I” is positioned within the perforated mesh area. On the examined jersey, the corresponding portion is located lower and does not occupy the same relationship to the mesh-panel boundary. Potential differences caused by image resolution, camera angle, perspective, lighting, fabric curvature, garment tension and player movement were considered. These variables may alter the apparent shape of flexible fabric but do not account for the observed difference in the letter’s placement relative to the fixed fabric transition. The conclusion was based on this material construction and placement discrepancy. No claim was made regarding possible use of the examined jersey outside the specific Slovenia–Australia reference game.
