The Item
Walsh Jordan's No. 15 Limoges CSP jersey from the 2003–04 French LNB Pro A season, manufactured by Champion in size XXL.
The jersey features a distinctive navy blue-to-gold gradient design with red and yellow side panels, black-and-yellow trim, and white player numbers outlined in black. The front displays the Géant sponsorship logo, LIMOGES CSP lettering, the French LNB league patch, and regional sponsor graphics. The reverse features Jordan's number 15 and the Ville de Limoges sponsor logo.
The jersey was acquired from a Limoges CSP collector who originally sold it as game worn. However, the garment displays only light signs of use, and its appearance has not yet been conclusively matched to historical game photography.
Although the original game-worn attribution remains part of its provenance, PhotoMatchForensics conservatively classifies the jersey as Game Issued – Game-Worn Status Unconfirmed.
Further photographic and historical research is ongoing.
Historical Documentation
Story & Historical Context
Walsh Jordan – A Forgotten Chapter in Limoges CSP History
Some basketball jerseys represent championship celebrations, historic victories, and unforgettable performances. Others tell the story of a difficult season, a struggling organization, and a player's brief but intriguing connection to one of Europe's most prestigious basketball clubs.
This Champion-manufactured No. 15 jersey attributed to American professional basketball player Walsh Jordan belongs to the second category.
Limoges CSP – From European Glory to Financial Crisis
Founded in 1929, Limoges Cercle Saint-Pierre became one of the most successful and recognizable basketball clubs in French history.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the club established itself as a major force in European basketball, collecting domestic championships and international trophies.
Its greatest achievement came in 1993, when Limoges defeated Benetton Treviso to become European champion under head coach Božidar Maljković. The victory remains one of the defining moments in French basketball history.
In 2000, Limoges celebrated another remarkable season, winning the French Championship, French Cup, and FIBA Korać Cup.
However, the years that followed brought growing financial difficulties, organizational instability, and declining sporting results.
The 2003–04 Season – A Club in Trouble
By the beginning of the 2003–04 season, Limoges CSP was struggling to maintain its position among France's basketball elite.
Competing in the LNB Pro A championship, the team experienced a difficult campaign marked by disappointing results and changes within the playing roster.
Limoges eventually finished at the bottom of the standings with a record of seven victories and 27 defeats.
The sporting disappointment was accompanied by serious financial problems. In 2004, the club entered bankruptcy proceedings and was forced to rebuild outside the top division.
The 2003–04 campaign therefore represents one of the darkest chapters in the history of a club that had conquered European basketball just eleven years earlier.
Walsh Jordan – An American Career Across Europe
Before his association with Limoges CSP, American basketball player Walsh Jordan had already gained experience in European professional basketball.
His career included appearances with Union Olimpija Ljubljana, Budućnost, and Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, providing experience in several competitive European basketball environments.
During the 2001–02 season, Jordan was part of the Lietuvos Rytas organization during a successful period in the Lithuanian club's history.
By the 2003–04 season, his career had brought him to France and Limoges CSP, where he wore jersey number 15.
His time with the French club remains an interesting subject of historical research, particularly because the surviving statistical records and his personal recollection do not fully align.
A Jersey with an Unresolved History
This jersey entered the PhotoMatchForensics collection after being purchased from a Limoges CSP memorabilia collector, who described it as game worn by Walsh Jordan.
Its distinctive Champion design, official-style sponsor markings, and player number connect the garment to the club's 2003–04 uniform.
Despite the original game-worn attribution, the jersey shows only limited signs of use. While a short period of game use could produce relatively little visible wear, the garment has not yet been independently authenticated as game worn.
The jersey's historical background has also become an important part of the investigation. Publicly available records document only a small number of official league appearances for Jordan, while the player personally recalled a longer association with Limoges.
Additional research has uncovered indications that Jordan may have left the club during the opening months of the season, although the precise circumstances remain unconfirmed.
These questions are now part of an ongoing PhotoMatchForensics investigation.
Preserving the Evidence, Including the Unanswered Questions
Not every piece of sports memorabilia comes with a complete and undisputed history.
Sometimes the most interesting objects are those that require further investigation, particularly when historical statistics, personal recollections, and original sales descriptions present different versions of the same story.
This Limoges CSP jersey is one such example.
Whether it was worn during one of Jordan's documented appearances or remained an unused team-issued garment has yet to be established.
Until additional evidence becomes available, it remains an intriguing artifact from a turbulent period in French basketball history and an ongoing research case within the PhotoMatchForensics collection.

Historical Research – Walsh Jordan, Limoges CSP (2003–04)
Research Status: Ongoing
Documented League Appearances
Historical basketball statistics databases, including Basketball-Reference and BeBasket, record four French LNB Pro A appearances for Walsh Jordan during the 2003–04 season.
His documented statistics are:
- Games Played: 4
- Total Minutes: 120
- Points: 28 (7.0 PPG)
- Rebounds: 15 (3.8 RPG)
- Assists: 11 (2.8 APG)
All four recorded appearances occurred during October 2003, against Bourg-en-Bresse, Chorale Roanne, Strasbourg, and ASVEL Villeurbanne.
Possible Departure in November 2003
Further research identified an entry in the Lithuanian basketball database BasketNews.lt indicating that Walsh Jordan was released by Limoges CSP in November 2003.
The original Lithuanian entry reads:
"2003–2004: Limožo CSP (Prancūzija), lapkritį atleistas."
English translation: "2003–2004: Limoges CSP (France), released in November."
This information is consistent with the absence of additional recorded league appearances after October 2003. However, the database does not provide an exact departure date or identify a contemporary primary source.
The reported release therefore remains a secondary-source claim rather than a conclusively verified historical event.
Personal Communication with Walsh Jordan
In personal communication with the collector, Walsh Jordan recalled being associated with Limoges CSP throughout the 2003–04 season.
This statement is interpreted as referring to his period of association with the club rather than participation in every league game.
Nevertheless, it differs from the reported November 2003 release date. The discrepancy remains unresolved.
Jordan has not authenticated this particular jersey.
Jersey Provenance and Condition
The jersey was purchased from a Limoges CSP collector and was originally described by the seller as game worn.
Physical examination reveals only light signs of use. No conclusive photographic match, player authentication, or independent game-worn documentation has yet been established.
The jersey is therefore currently classified as:
Game Issued – Game-Worn Status Unconfirmed
This classification reflects the available evidence and may be revised if further documentation becomes available.
Ongoing Newspaper Archive Investigation
An inquiry has been submitted to the French regional newspaper Le Populaire du Centre, requesting archival information concerning Walsh Jordan's time with Limoges CSP, his possible departure in November 2003, and contemporary changes to the team's roster.
A response is currently pending.
