Ziga Samar Game Worn 2022-23 Shoes

A pair of white adidas basketball shoes worn by Slovenian guard Žiga Samar during the Hamburg Towers’ 2022–23 season. The shoes were game-worn against the Rostock Seawolves on February 3, 2023. Constructed with breathable mesh uppers, synthetic overlays and sculpted rubber soles, the shoes display visible signs of on-court use, including creasing, surface wear, discoloration and abrasion to the outsole and upper materials. One shoe is personally signed by Samar, while the other bears a handwritten inscription documenting their use: “Game Used – HH vs. Rostock – 03 Feb. 23.” The player-applied signatures, game-specific inscription and direct provenance establish the pair as an individually documented piece of Hamburg basketball history.

The 2022–23 season represented an important stage in the development of Slovenian point guard Žiga Samar. After progressing through the youth system of Real Madrid and gaining professional experience in Spain with Fuenlabrada, Samar signed a long-term contract with ALBA Berlin in the summer of 2022. He was subsequently loaned to the Hamburg Towers for the season, providing him with significant playing time in both the Basketball Bundesliga and the EuroCup. At just 21 years of age, Samar became an important part of Hamburg’s backcourt. He appeared in 34 Bundesliga games and 19 EuroCup games, averaging 8.2 points and 5.9 assists per game in domestic competition, along with 9.8 points and 6.1 assists per game in the EuroCup. His court vision and playmaking ability established him as one of the team’s primary ball handlers during the campaign. Hamburg was defeated 91–81, but the shoes remain directly connected to the Northern German matchup through Samar’s handwritten inscription: “Game Used – HH vs. Rostock – 03 Feb. 23.” At the Hamburg Towers’ 2023 end-of-season celebration, Samar personally presented the shoes as a gift to the founder of PhotoMatchForensics. He signed the pair and added the game-specific inscription during the handover, directly confirming both his use of the shoes and the game to which they are attributed. The player-applied signature, dated inscription, visible signs of on-court wear and direct transfer from Samar establish strong and continuous provenance. The pair represents a personally documented artifact from Samar’s only season with the Hamburg Towers and from an early stage of his international professional career.
