Martell Webster Game Worn Minnesota Timberwolves Jersey

This blue Minnesota Timberwolves road jersey was game-worn by Martell Webster during the 2010–11 NBA season. Manufactured by adidas, the jersey features the arched “MINNESOTA” team wordmark across the chest and Webster’s player number “5” positioned below. The jersey has been photomatched to Webster’s use on December 15, 2010. The body is constructed from lightweight blue ClimaCool performance mesh and incorporates contrasting black, white and silver side panels. The V-neck collar and arm openings feature coordinated black-and-white trim. An embroidered NBA logo is positioned on the upper chest. The “MINNESOTA” lettering and front numeral “5” are constructed from layered twill components and individually machine-stitched to the jersey. The white lettering and numeral interiors are outlined in black and silver, consistent with the Timberwolves’ professional road-uniform design from the period. The lower front carries an adidas ClimaCool manufacturer jock tag identifying the jersey as a size 2XL. An adjacent extension label designates an additional four inches of body length. The manufacturer tag contains the handwritten equipment annotations “5,” “10–11” and “SET 1,” identifying the intended player number, season and uniform set. A separate NBA inventory label bearing the serial number “MT100299” is positioned beside the adidas tag. The professional materials, team-specific customization, tagging configuration and handwritten equipment markings are consistent with a Minnesota Timberwolves jersey prepared for Martell Webster during the 2010–11 NBA season. Its documented photomatch to December 15, 2010, provides direct photographic evidence of the jersey’s game use. The jersey is accompanied by a Minnesota Timberwolves Team Letter of Authenticity (Team LOA) signed by the team’s equipment manager. This team-issued documentation establishes direct organizational provenance and supports the jersey’s classification as game-worn by Martell Webster during the 2010–11 NBA season. Together with the confirmed photomatch to December 15, 2010, the Team LOA provides strong documentary and photographic evidence of the jersey’s authenticity and game use.

The 2010–11 season marked the beginning of a new chapter in Martell Webster’s NBA career. After spending his first five professional seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, Webster was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on June 24, 2010, in exchange for Ryan Gomes and the draft rights to Luke Babbitt. The move gave the 23-year-old wing an opportunity to establish a new role within a young Minnesota roster undergoing an extensive rebuilding process. Webster entered the NBA directly from Seattle Preparatory School as one of the final generation of players selected immediately out of high school. The Portland Trail Blazers chose him with the sixth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. Standing 6 feet 7 inches tall, Webster developed into an athletic shooting guard and small forward recognized particularly for his perimeter shooting, transition scoring and ability to provide offense from the wing. His first season in Minnesota was interrupted before it could properly begin. After participating in the preseason, Webster underwent back surgery in October 2010 and missed the opening portion of the regular season. He returned to the lineup in December and appeared in 46 games during the 2010–11 campaign. Primarily used as a reserve, he averaged 9.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 41.7 percent from three-point range. The Timberwolves finished the season with a 17–65 record as the organization continued to develop a young roster built around Kevin Love, Michael Beasley, Wesley Johnson and other emerging players. Despite the team’s difficult campaign, Webster provided experienced wing depth and reliable outside shooting during his first year with the franchise. This blue road jersey has been photomatched to Webster’s use against the Phoenix Suns on December 15, 2010, at US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Minnesota scored 122 points in a high-scoring contest but was defeated by Phoenix, 128–122. The game took place shortly after Webster’s return from back surgery and therefore represents an early documented appearance from his first regular season with the Timberwolves. The handwritten equipment notations “5,” “10–11” and “SET 1” identify the jersey as the first uniform set prepared for Webster’s number 5 during the 2010–11 season. Its direct team provenance is further supported by a Minnesota Timberwolves Team Letter of Authenticity signed by the team’s equipment manager. Together, the period-correct professional tagging, handwritten Set 1 designation, signed Team LOA and confirmed photomatch to December 15, 2010, establish a documented connection between this jersey, Martell Webster and his first season as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
