Corey Brewer Bench Worn Dallas Mavericks 2011 Finals Game 1 (DNP) Jersey — Front
Front

Description

This Dallas Mavericks road jersey was worn by Corey Brewer during the 2011 NBA Finals while he was dressed and available for the game but did not enter the contest. The blue Adidas ClimaCool jersey features the layered “DALLAS” wordmark and Brewer’s number “13” on the front, together with the official 2011 NBA Finals patch on the upper chest. The reverse displays “BREWER” above the number “13,” with Brewer’s autograph applied directly to the back numeral. The manufacturer tagging identifies the jersey as size XL with an additional four inches of body length. The jersey was acquired directly through an official NBA Auctions sale in 2011 and has remained in the private collection of the founder of PhotoMatchForensics ever since. Its NBA Auctions origin provides a direct and documented chain of provenance extending back to the championship season.

Story

The 2011 NBA Finals matched the Dallas Mavericks against the Miami Heat in a rematch of their 2006 championship series. Miami entered the Finals with its celebrated combination of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, while Dallas relied on experience, depth and a veteran roster constructed around Dirk Nowitzki. After falling behind 2–1 in the series, the Mavericks won three consecutive games to defeat Miami 4–2 and secure the first NBA championship in franchise history. Nowitzki was named NBA Finals MVP, completing one of the most significant championship runs of his career. Corey Brewer joined Dallas during the second half of the 2010–11 season and provided athleticism, defensive versatility and additional depth on the wing. Although his playing opportunities during the postseason were limited, he contributed during the Mavericks’ playoff run and remained part of the active championship roster. This blue road jersey was worn by Brewer during the 2011 NBA Finals under a “Dressed, Did Not Play” designation. Brewer was in uniform and available to participate but did not enter the game. The distinction is important: the jersey was worn in the official Finals environment, although it did not see on-court playing action during the contest. The jersey carries the official NBA Finals patch, Brewer’s surname and number “13,” together with his autograph on the back numeral. Its Adidas ClimaCool construction, professional sizing and additional body length are consistent with an NBA player-issued uniform from the period. The founder of PhotoMatchForensics acquired the jersey directly from NBA Auctions in 2011, shortly after the Mavericks’ championship run. It has remained in the founder’s collection without any subsequent change of ownership. This direct NBA Auctions acquisition establishes a strong and continuous provenance from the championship season to the present collection. As a dressed-but-did-not-play jersey from Dallas’ first NBA championship, the piece documents Brewer’s place on the 2011 title-winning roster and represents an artifact from one of the defining moments in Mavericks history.
