A comprehensive photographic comparison was also conducted using available tournament imagery from Getty Images, IMAGO and photographs identified through Google Image Search. The photographic review, completed as of summer 2024, covered Dončić’s documented appearances throughout the tournament. The examined jersey was compared with the jerseys visible in these images using the photomatch method, with attention to individually distinguishable construction characteristics, lettering and numeral alignment, stitching patterns, material irregularities and other visible identifiers. The comparison established that Dončić wore a different individual jersey during the tournament. None of the visible photographs examined produced a photomatch to the present jersey, and the identifiable characteristics of Dončić’s photographed jersey do not correspond with those of the examined example. Provenance information was considered as part of the overall assessment. The jersey was obtained indirectly from a team-associated source in connection with a group of Slovenia national-team jerseys offered for sale, representing players from across the tournament roster. This provenance context was evaluated together with the jersey’s period-correct physical characteristics, professional customization and tournament-specific configuration.

The examined jersey displays the correct materials, professional construction, Slovenia national-team customization, tournament branding, sponsor configuration and size 52+4 tagging expected of a jersey prepared for Luka Dončić for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Its characteristics are consistent with an authentic game-issued Slovenia national-team jersey originating from the team’s tournament inventory. The jersey was obtained indirectly from a team-associated source as part of an offering that included additional jerseys prepared for members of the Slovenian national-team roster. The provenance information and the presence of multiple roster jerseys provide supporting context for its classification as an authentic game-issued example. However, an extensive review of available tournament photographs from Getty Images, IMAGO and Google Image Search, completed as of summer 2024, determined that Dončić wore a different individual jersey during the competition. Photomatch comparison of the visible construction characteristics and individual identifiers produced no correspondence with the examined jersey. PhotoMatchForensics therefore concludes that this is an authentic game-issued jersey professionally prepared for Luka Dončić and the Slovenian national team for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, but it was not worn by Dončić during the tournament. The appropriate photographic conclusion is No Photomatch, assessed at 99% confidence.
