PMF - MATCHPOINT STUDIO PRIVACY NOTICE FOR THE DESKTOP APPLICATION Version 1.0.5 - September 2026 1. RESPONSIBLE PUBLISHER Christian Hintermeier Bottenäcker Str. 36 71711 Murr, Germany Email: ch@photomatchforensics.com Telephone: +1 475-276-5505 Website: PhotoMatchForensics.com 2. OFFLINE-FIRST OPERATION PMF - MatchPoint Studio is designed as a local, offline desktop application. Version 1.0.5 does not require a user account and contains no telemetry, advertising tracker, analytics service, cloud synchronisation, automatic case upload or remote report-verification service. 3. DATA PROCESSED LOCALLY Depending on the user's entries, the Software may process locally: - case references, titles and status information; - player, team, event and memorabilia information; - report-author and optional reviewer information; - imported item and reference images; - source information, hashes, annotations and evidence-point coordinates; - descriptions, conclusions and locally generated reports; and - technical audit entries concerning local case actions. This information is stored on the user's own Windows device in the local application data folder. It is not automatically transmitted to the Publisher. 4. STORAGE LOCATION The standard data location is: %LOCALAPPDATA%\PMFMatchPointStudio The installation directory and local case-data directory are separate. A normal update does not remove the case-data directory. A normal uninstall intentionally leaves it in place to prevent accidental loss. The user may delete it manually after making any required backup. 5. PURPOSE AND CONTROL All local processing is initiated and controlled by the user for personal image comparison and documentation. The Publisher cannot view, retrieve, correct or delete locally stored case content because the application does not transmit that content to the Publisher. 6. EXPORT AND SHARING PDF reports are created locally. A report or case information leaves the device only when the user deliberately saves it to a synchronised location, sends it, uploads it or shares it through another service. The privacy terms of that selected service then apply. 7. THIRD-PARTY PERSONAL DATA AND IMAGES Users are responsible for ensuring that they have a lawful basis and any necessary permissions for personal data, photographs and other third-party material they enter, store or share through their own use of the Software. 8. SECURITY AND BACKUPS The user controls Windows account security, disk encryption, access permissions, malware protection, backups and physical access to the device. The Publisher recommends regular backups of the entire local data folder and secure storage of original images. 9. WEBSITE DOWNLOAD DATA This notice describes the desktop application. When the Software is downloaded from PhotoMatchForensics.com, the website or hosting provider may process technical connection data such as IP address, timestamp, requested file and browser information for delivery, security and server-log purposes. The separate privacy notice published on PhotoMatchForensics.com applies to that processing. 10. CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE If a future version introduces update checks, crash reporting, telemetry, cloud functions or another network service, the privacy notice must be updated before that function is activated. Such a function must not be silently added under this notice. 11. CONTACT Questions about this desktop-application privacy notice may be sent to ch@photomatchforensics.com. END OF PRIVACY NOTICE This text is a publication draft and should receive final review by a qualified German data-protection or IT-law professional before the first public release.
